The Management of companies: SC AVIVA SRL and SC XILOBAIA SRL declares commitment to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Principles and Criteria. In this regards, a system and related chain of custody procedures were developed in order to ensure compliance with the FSC Principles and Criteria.
SC AVIVA SRL and SC XILOBAIA SRL developed a policy to avoid purchasing/processing/selling timber sourced from controversial sources, including:
• Illegal harvested wood
• wood harvested in violation of traditional or civil rights
• wood harvested from forest in which high conservation values are threatened by management activities
• wood harvested from areas being converted from forests and other wooded ecosystems to plantations or non-forest uses
• wood harvested from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted
The company will stop purchasing wood from areas which were proved to be controversial. The Management Representative for COC is directly in charge with implementation of this policy.
There are documented system procedures ensuring that Chain of Custody is maintained and timber traceability is provided. As a general rule, the companies are seeking to include in the FSC certified product groups only timber certified as FSC pure or FSC mixed and certified controlled wood.
